This European lecture series explores politics, society, economics, history, culture, and media in Russia during the transformative decade of the 1990s.

Van 13 t/m 15 november 2025 organiseert het Nederlands Instituut Petersburg (NIP) in samenwerking met de Radboud Universiteit een meerdaags programma over de toekomst en continuïteit van de Russische studies in Nijmegen aan de RU.

On November 4, Dr Olga Zeveleva (Assistant Professor in Conflict Studies, Utrecht University) will speak on "Colonialism and Authoritarianism - Russia’s imperial ambitions abroad and repressive politics at home."

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, leader of the Belarusian democratic opposition, delivers the ninth October Lecture in Amsterdam on Belarus’s struggle for freedom and its pivotal role in Europe’s security.

Op donderdag 4 september 2025 vindt de jaarlijkse conferentie van het REKA netwerk plaats. Tijdens deze bijeenkomst gaan we samen met experts, beleidsmakers, ondernemers, journalisten en studenten in gesprek over de laatste ontwikkelingen in en om Oost-Europa. Op 1 februari 2025 om 13.30 uur vindt in het schermtheater Visum Mundi de Nederlandse première plaats van de bekroonde documentaire 09.05.2022 van de jonge Russisch-Amerikaanse regisseur Nicole Philmon.

In deze experimentele documentaire wil de filmmaker de pijn van haar ouders – overlevenden van de Holocaust en werkkampen – overstemmen met blije herinneringen en bewijs van hun samenzijn.

Op 7 november wijdt het Gronings Instituut voor Midden en Oost-Europa (GIMOES) een conferentie aan de geschiedenis van de betrekkingen tussen Oekraïne, Nederland en België.
