Course on Russian Religious Philosophy

Prof. dr. Alfons Brüning and dr. Josephien van Kessel present in this course the most influential Russian religious philosophers in the Silver Age, including Vladimir Solov'ëv, Sergei Boelgakov, Nikolai Berdiaev, Pavel Florenskii, Ivan Il'in, Georgii Florovskii en Vladimir Losskii. Also the works of renowned dissidents and Nobel Prize winners Alexander Solzhenytsyn and Andrei Sacharov will be explored.

This course is relevant for students of philosophy and theology, and those who want a different perspective on how religious philosophy influenced the current ideology and their role in shifting the focus of the Orthodox church and religion back to society.
